Defensive driving/Driving style
Emphasis is placed on the core skills used by the police and other professional, advanced drivers to create a mindset that is for life on the modern roads. This skill set will be hard wired into your driving and will be the foundation for you to go on improving after your training is completed
Just because you can drive, does not mean you have a driving style or mentality fit for the modern highways. There are many styles of driving.
- Have you ever sat in a car being driven be a person and just couldn’t wait for the journey to end?
- Or perhaps you felt sick during the journey or terrified? BDS will instill a definite awareness of driver psychology into you as your training progresses by making you aware not only of what to do in all aspects of driving, but also the why and how.
- NO QUESTION IS A SILLY QUESTION WHEN LEARNING TO DRIVE
- A driver style will be developed based on defensive driving techniques (DDT).
- DDT is the style of driving used by expert drivers to ensure complete safety by consistent, methodical application of driving and operation of your vehicle. DDT is a ensures safety with forward planning and understood practices in defined situations such as approaching any potential hazards such as bends and junctions
- The objective is to make you much better than the general “L” test standard in the allotted time. The purpose of this is to provide the most solid foundation for you to build the rest of your driving future on and to ensure we are going to pass the driving test itself.
Are you a suitable BDS student?
BDS require students with a hard work ethic that are ready to really apply themselves in an environment of team work and goal attainment.
- Students who understand we are not here to work an angle on them but are interested in producing excellence in our students.
- How long does it take and why
- The Driving Standards Agency recommends 40 hours of tuition with a driving instructor coupled with 20 hours of private practice before you are ready to drive independently
- Although more hours will make u better prepared, the amount of hours necessary varies according to each student and how the hours are used.
- At BDS we do not make our students drive the last student home. We only do one on one lessons and an hour is an hour
- We do not waste the first and last ten minutes of your lesson talking when you should be driving and only pull you over for relevant tuition and advice.
- Your driving lesson will be about driving and getting the most out of the time you have paid for
Testimonials
I would like to say thank you to my driving
instructor Chris for helping me pass my driving test this summer. Chris was extremely patient and good fun to be around, always ensuring I felt comfortable with everything we did. I would urge anyone learning to drive that they too would enjoy learning with Chris. Thank you!
